What to Look for in an AEO and GEO Agency in Singapore: 10 Questions to Ask Before You Hire (Buyer's Checklist 2027)

When a Singapore business works out how to choose an SEO agency that also covers AI answers, the deciding question is what each agency's guarantee measures: whether you appear in an AI answer, or whether that answer gets your facts right. Singapore proposals are easy to line up by monthly fee, and the fee tells you the cost. It does not tell you what happens when ChatGPT, Perplexity or a Google AI Overview tells a buyer something wrong about your business. Ten plain questions, asked of every agency in the same order, do.

Ten Direct Questions Reveal Whether a Singapore Agency Fits

Ten direct questions tell you whether a Singapore AEO and GEO agency fits before you sign anything, and a well-run agency answers nearly all of them without needing to check. Hesitation or a changed subject on any one question is a finding in itself. The questions span two services that stand on a third. AEO (answer engine optimisation) gets you quoted in Google AI Overviews, featured snippets, answer boxes and voice search answers. GEO (generative engine optimisation) earns citations and mentions for your business inside ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, and GEO leads. Both stand on SEO (search engine optimisation), which earns your place in Google's regular results.

#AreaQuestionA strong answerRed flag
1GuaranteeWhat, precisely, does your guarantee cover? One named, measurable outcome in writing: a percentage, a deadline or a standard of factual accuracy"Results guaranteed" with no metric behind it
2Citation proofDo you produce an AI citation when asked?A named business cited in ChatGPT, Gemini or a Google AI Overview, live or as a dated capture showing the prompt and session conditionsNothing to show, or an undated screenshot with no prompt
3PricingAre starting prices public, or do they appear only after a sales call?Public starting points, followed by a dated quote in writingNo public figure and nothing in writing before the contract
4MeasurementIs reporting built on content clusters or on single keywords? Results grouped by topic and prompt clusters, with ranking reports includedRank tracking that lists keywords one by one and nothing else
5GEO timingDoes GEO start on day one, or wait for months of separate SEO?AI-chat work planned from day one beside the rest, live once the changes are implementedGEO parked until an SEO audit clears, with no AI-visibility work meanwhile
6ContractWhat is the term, and what is the exit process? The term, the minimum and the cancellation notice period, all stated in writingA long lock-in with no stated minimum or notice period
7MethodologyIs the method explained, or just labelled "AI optimisation"?A named process set out step by stepLoose language and no described method
8ComplianceHow are the rules of a regulated Singapore industry handled?A named claim-checking process, with your sign-off before anything goes liveSilence on compliance, or an answer that ignores your sector
9Delivery teamWho does the work: in-house staff or a subcontractor? The named people assigned to your campaignNo clear answer on who does the work
10CorrectionsWhat happens when an AI engine gets a fact about my business wrong?A defined correction process and a timelineNo process, or "that is outside our control"

Ten questions for any AEO and GEO agency in Singapore, before you sign.

What to Look for in an AEO and GEO Agency in Singapore

Look for five things you verify before the contract, not assurances given after it. A well-run Singapore agency:

  • Names its guarantee and writes it into the proposal.
  • Shows an AI citation on request, live or as a dated capture.
  • Publishes its starting prices and follows up with a dated written quote.
  • Measures results across a topic cluster rather than a single keyword.
  • Sets out its method one step at a time.

Clear answers on all five give you something to evaluate. No answers on any of them leave you with trust and nothing behind it.

Why These 10 Matter for Singapore Buyers

The guarantee question matters most because it reveals what you are paying to fix: whether buyers find your business, or whether what they read about it is true. Each engine answers from what it has learned and looked up about your business across many sources, and your own website is only one of them. A guarantee that your business appears tests presence. A guarantee that the answer is correct tests accuracy. Presence is a fair measure, and it is not the same measure as accuracy: a business shows up clearly in an answer and is still described wrongly, and a presence guarantee never checks for that.

Guarantee, citation proof and methodology do most of the differentiating. A named method shows whether the work adds up over time or starts from zero at each renewal. Proof from several engines matters because ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews each answer from their own model and retrieved sources, and a correct description in one engine does not carry over to another.

How Large Is the Audience Behind These Questions in Singapore?

Google AI Overviews alone reached over 2 billion monthly users worldwide by July 2025, and Gartner found B2B buyers spend just 17% of their buying time meeting potential suppliers. Google gave the scale of that single AI surface as over 2 billion monthly Google AI Overviews users across more than 200 countries and territories and 40 languages as of July 2025 (Google, 2025). A citation on one surface does not establish coverage across the engines and search intents Singapore buyers use. Gartner research from 2020 shows that B2B buyers typically spend only 17% of their time meeting with potential suppliers when they are considering a purchase, and a Gartner sales survey published on 25 June 2025 found that 61% of B2B buyers prefer an overall rep-free buying experience. Both Gartner figures are global rather than Singapore-specific. That independent research stage is where a guarantee earns its keep, because the facts a buyer meets there are right or wrong before any supplier call.

Do AEO and GEO Agencies in Singapore Guarantee Results?

Of the three Singapore agencies quoted in June 2026, one states a guarantee in writing: OOm guarantees a share-of-voice and page-one percentage (as quoted 25 June 2026). Verz Design states KPI milestones, not guarantees, and D'Marketing Agency states none (both as quoted June 2026). Outside that June set, Firstpage Digital's NexSEO Spark quote of 26 August 2026 ties its fee to page-one and AI-mention percentages within 12 months, and Exabytes publishes a page-one percentage with a one-off three-month extension if it is missed. Stridec is cited here for its published band of S$5,000 to S$12,000 a month only. The three written guarantees in the table, from OOm, Firstpage Digital and Exabytes, measure presence or position; none of them tests whether what an AI engine says about your business is correct.

The Ground Truth Guarantee: within 30 days of publishing, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity answer your showstopper questions with the facts in your Brand Codex. If they do not, Aemorph refunds 100% of your Sprint 1 fee and keeps working on the answers for a further 60 days, 90 days in total. Sprint 1 is a 30-day showstopper-answer sprint for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity.

Terms: the Ground Truth Guarantee covers Sprint 1 bought on its own; Sprint 1 inside a monthly package carries no refund; it does not cover Sprint 2 (Entity Hardening), search rankings or Google AI Overviews. Full terms

Singapore's Search Market Behind the Checklist

Google held 92.16% of search engine market share in Singapore in September 2026 and Bing held 4.53% (StatCounter), and IMDA reports that most Singapore workers used AI tools at work in 2024, which is why this checklist asks for reporting on Google results and AI answers together. DataReportal's Digital 2026 report counts 5.78 million internet users in Singapore as of October 2025, 98.4% of the population. IMDA's Singapore Digital Economy Report 2025 found that 73.8% of workers used AI tools at work in 2024, while AI adoption stood at 62.5% among non-SMEs and 14.5% among SMEs, up from 4.2% in 2023.

Red Flags to Reject in a Singapore Agency Pitch

Four patterns in a pitch point to a weak engagement whatever the fee, and any single one is enough reason to keep looking before you commit a Singapore budget. In Aemorph's observation, these four turn up across the wider AI-visibility market, and each hides a cost or a risk the pitch leaves unsaid. A weak agency:

  • Locks you into a long contract with no stated point at which you leave without a penalty.
  • Hides how the work is done, with no step-by-step method.
  • Promises "AI optimisation" with no named deliverable, surface or metric.
  • Fails to produce a real AI citation, live or as a dated capture with its prompt, and offers a mocked-up screenshot in its place.

What Questions to Ask an AEO Agency in Singapore

Ask each Singapore agency the same ten questions, covering guarantee, citation proof, pricing, measurement, GEO timing, contract, methodology, compliance, delivery team and corrections, and count a dodged answer on any one of them as a red flag by itself. A well-run agency answers every question directly, in writing, before a contract is signed.

Does the CPFTA Cover the Claims in an Agency Proposal?

CCS describes an unfair trade practice under the Consumer Protection (Fair Trading) Act 2003 (CPFTA) as a misleading representation or a false claim made to consumers in a business-to-consumer transaction, so the claims an agency makes to your business in its proposal sit outside that description, and the written quote and contract are your record of them. The CPFTA matters for what the agency writes on your behalf. The Competition and Consumer Commission of Singapore (CCS), which administers the Act, states that it applies broadly to businesses, including businesses marketing products to consumers though not necessarily selling them, and to businesses inside or outside Singapore that sell to consumers in Singapore. The claims on your consumer-facing pages stay your obligation, so ask each agency how it checks them before they publish, and keep every projection and guarantee in the written proposal. The ASAS advertising code guide covers the CPFTA and the Singapore Code of Advertising Practice as they apply to your own copy.
