# Synapxe Case Study: 245% Organic Traffic Growth in 7 Months After a 4,000+ Page Migration, and What It Means for Large Australian Sites

**Synapxe, a HealthTech organisation and a past Aemorph client, grew its organic search traffic 245% over seven months, from August 2023, the first full month after its 4,000+ page website moved to Sitecore, to March 2024: Ahrefs-estimated monthly organic visits rose from 6,372 to 21,953.** Aemorph planned the migration and supported the post-launch work described below. For a large Australian organisation, a migration that holds its search traffic in Google and Bing, and then grows it, protects the visits your enquiries, applications and leads start from.

By March 2024, Synapxe drew more than three times the monthly organic visits of August 2023, its first full month.

## Synapxe's Website at Launch

**Synapxe's website relaunched in July 2023 on a new domain, which makes August 2023, its first full month, the baseline for every traffic gain on this page.** The migration moved more than 4,000 pages from a custom CMS to Sitecore, in a project that ran from March to August 2023. No pre-migration baseline is recorded for the new domain, so the result measures growth after launch, not a before-and-after comparison across the move.

### Why does a large migration put search traffic at risk for an Australian organisation?

**When a migration changes a page's URL, Aemorph maps the old URL to its new destination and specifies a 301 redirect, because a missing or wrong redirect disrupts access and the transfer of search signals in Google and Bing.** Across 4,000+ pages, each missed redirect, broken link or error page is one more route where a patient, a buyer or a job applicant reaches an error instead of the page they wanted.

## What Aemorph Did for Synapxe

**Aemorph planned Synapxe's migration, specified the redirects and verified the result, while Synapxe's developers implemented the move; the aim was to keep the authority the old pages had earned and build on it after launch.** Over the project and the work that followed, Aemorph:

1. **Planned** the move of 4,000+ pages from a custom CMS to Sitecore and specified the redirects.
2. **Specified** redirects from each old URL with inbound links to its relevant new page, so the backlinks the old pages had earned point to live pages; Synapxe's developers implemented them.
3. **Fixed** existing errors, including 404 (page not found) pages.
4. **Migrated** the relevant articles and created new website pages.
5. **Recommended** on-page changes matched to HealthTech job roles and the intent behind each search.
6. **Verified** the result after launch, with Synapxe's developers implementing each change.

### What does Aemorph check before a large Australian site goes live?

**Before launch, Aemorph lists every URL that carries inbound links, rankings or visits, matches each one to its new page and checks that your developers implement the 301 redirects as planned.** After launch, Aemorph monitors 404 errors and key pages so a gap is found and fixed early. The full seven-step migration process sits on the [technical SEO service page](https://aemorph.com/en-au/services/technical-seo/).

## What Australia's Search Market Means for a Large Site Migration

**A migrated Australian site has to hold its place in two search engines and in Google's AI Overviews: Google held 87.9% of search engine market share in Australia in September 2026 and Bing 9.17% (StatCounter).** Google rolled out AI Overviews Australia-wide on 29 October 2024, and AI Mode began rolling out in Australia in English on 8 October 2025. DataReportal counts 26.2 million Australian internet users, 97.1% of the population, as of October 2025.

| Measure | Figure | Market and date | Source |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Google share of search engine market | 87.9% | Australia, September 2026 | StatCounter |
| Bing share of search engine market | 9.17% | Australia, September 2026 | StatCounter |
| Google AI Overviews | Rolled out Australia-wide | Australia, 29 October 2024 | Google Australia |
| Google AI Mode | Began rolling out in English | Australia, 8 October 2025 | Google |
| Internet users | 26.2 million, 97.1% of the population | Australia, as of October 2025 | DataReportal |

*Sources: StatCounter Global Stats, search engine market share, Australia, September 2026; Google Australia, "Introducing AI Overviews in Australia", 29 October 2024; Google, "AI Mode in Australia", 8 October 2025; DataReportal, Digital 2026: Australia, data as of October 2025.* More figures: [AI search statistics for Australia](https://aemorph.com/en-au/statistics/ai-search-statistics-australia/).

**Because Bing held 9.17% of Australia's search-engine market share in September 2026 (StatCounter), Aemorph verifies a migrated site in Bing Webmaster Tools as well as Google Search Console, so the indexing data from both engines shows whether the new pages are picked up.**

## The Results: Traffic Growth After the Migration

**From August 2023, the first full month after launch, to March 2024, Synapxe's monthly organic visits rose from 6,372 to 21,953, more than tripling across seven months.** Organic keywords grew over the same period.

| Metric | Start | End | Period | Change | Annualised rate |
| --- | --- | --- | --- | --- | --- |
| Organic traffic (visits/month) | 6,372 | 21,953 | Aug 2023 to Mar 2024, 7 months | +245% | Short window, not annualised |

### Why does Synapxe's result carry no annualised rate?

**Synapxe's result runs seven months from a new domain's first full month, so Aemorph treats it as a short-window result and publishes no annualised rate.** The raw change, 245% across seven months, is the measured result.

## What This Result Demonstrates for Large Australian Organisations

**Synapxe's result shows a planned migration, followed by error fixes, migrated articles and on-page work, preceding a more than threefold rise in one large HealthTech organisation's estimated monthly organic traffic between August 2023 and March 2024.** The comparison covers two dates, so it does not isolate which part of the work caused the change. On an Australian site of thousands of pages, the migration plan protects URL access and the transfer of search signals in Google and Bing; post-launch work addresses errors and builds on that foundation. Today Aemorph runs SEO, AEO and [GEO](https://aemorph.com/en-au/glossary/#geo-generative-engine-optimisation) (generative engine optimisation) together, so the same pages are built for rankings in Google and Bing and for citation in ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity.

## Replicate This Result With Technical SEO in Australia

**Aemorph's [technical SEO service](https://aemorph.com/en-au/services/technical-seo/) plans your migration, specifies every redirect and verifies the result, so a large Australian site goes into the move with a tested plan for keeping its traffic.** For organisations running several divisions or brands, [enterprise SEO](https://aemorph.com/en-au/services/enterprise-seo/) applies the same discipline across the whole estate, and healthcare organisations start with [SEO, AEO and GEO for hospitals and medical groups](https://aemorph.com/en-au/industries/hospitals-and-medical-groups/).

Synapxe's figures are organic SEO. For correct AI answers as well, the standalone start is the [Showstopper Sensor](https://aemorph.com/en-au/services/30-day-showstopper-sensor-sprint/) (Sprint 1), a 30-day showstopper-answer sprint for ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity. It publishes the answers to your [showstopper questions](https://aemorph.com/en-au/glossary/#showstopper-questions), the buyer questions that stop a purchase when AI answers them badly, as the first part of your [Brand Codex](https://aemorph.com/en-au/services/brand-codex/). Any business, at any size, buys Sprint 1 on its own; on the enterprise route, it runs inside Attain or Apex after the audit and the Influencer Blueprint.

Bought on its own, Sprint 1 carries the [Ground Truth Guarantee](https://aemorph.com/en-au/glossary/#ground-truth-guarantee). **The Ground Truth Guarantee: within 30 days of publishing, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity answer your showstopper questions with the facts in your Brand Codex. If they do not, Aemorph refunds 100% of your Sprint 1 fee and keeps working on the answers for a further 60 days, 90 days in total.**

*Terms: the Ground Truth Guarantee covers Sprint 1 bought on its own; Sprint 1 inside a monthly package carries no refund; it does not cover Sprint 2 ([Entity Hardening](https://aemorph.com/en-au/glossary/#entity-hardening-sprint-2)), search rankings or Google AI Overviews.
